The Antiquities Replica Centre is a government-run facility where skilled craftsmen produce faithful reproductions of Sri Lanka's most important archaeological artefacts. Each piece is created using traditional methods and materials, ensuring historical accuracy in every detail.

What You'll Find

The showroom displays replicas ranging from small bronze Buddha figurines to larger stone carvings based on originals from Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa, and other ancient cities. Moonstone carvings, guard stones, ancient coins, and jewellery reproductions are popular items. All pieces come with certificates confirming they are authorised replicas, which helps with customs when leaving the country.

Visiting

The centre is located in Colombo and is open during regular business hours on weekdays. Prices are reasonable for the quality — significantly less than similar items from private galleries. It's an excellent stop for anyone interested in Sri Lankan history and looking for a meaningful souvenir.
